Welcome to Davinna K's Website

Davinna K. is a new writer with a fresh outlook on science-fiction, fantasy, and other-world lifeforms. Raised in the ‘big sky’ State of Montana, she knows about long distances between destinations. Davinna K. now resides in Texas.

The classic movie, FORBIDDEN PLANET launched her imagination and, at the age of ten, Sci-Fi was in her blood. Along with that came the desire to write. Her Mother bought her a portable Remington Holiday typewriter in 1963 and she still has it. Today, retired, she is almost glued to the computer desk keyboard. To her, writing is the greatest gift she can offer.

Joy and love are an integral Davinna K. quality. She loves America and her cartoon strip ‘Christopher T. Twinkles’ was adopted by the First Cavalry Division during the first gulf war. Davinna’s love of adventure, curiosity about outer space, and her self-reliance is evident in her writing. As a child, she tried to build a backyard child-size play rocket ship from old throwaway wood so she could pretend to be in space. She once built a dragster in a bottle and made her own tools even though it took her six months to complete.

In another project, Davinna created her own rigging (both fixed and running) on a model clipper ship. Then she studied watch construction and reconditioned old windup watches, just to study how they worked. Later, she designed and built her own slot cars. About the age of twelve, Davinna began writing short stories, which became lyrics and composing music composition (lLonghand).

She sketched and painted pictures of old buildings. Several of which she sold. In junior high and high school, Davinna started drawing original cartoon figures for her strips.

In her twenties, Davinna restored several old Harley-Davidsons. She rode Harleys from coast to coast until rather recently. She is known to have repaired the roof of her home, by herself, after reaching retirement age.

She also holds a ministry of music certificate for her musical ability and for her work entertaining at senior citizen retirement homes. Retired now, her passion remains writing.

Davinna is also a veteran of the Vietnam War (1967), another way in which she showed her love of country.

Our Story

How Christopher T. Twinkles Came to Be is a cooperative venture that began with a three-hundred-word document that Davinna had sequestered away in an old trunk for the past thirty-one (31) years. When Davinna sent it to Mosetta with the request that she help turn her few paragraphs into a novel, Mosetta cringed. It was the most atrocious writing she had ever read.

However, the story concept seemed good. Finally, she agreed. And, after Davinna promised to give two years of her life to (1) further develop the story concept, (2) develop her writing style, and (3) work this project through to completion, they were ready to begin.

With determination and ‘joie de vivre’, Mosetta and Davinna knew they could do it. Davinna and Dr. Mosetta have combined their talents to offer unique, charming, and engaging characters, situations, and stories that are sure to please their readers. Whether you’re involved with a little teddy bear struggling to survive, (How Christopher T. Twinkles came to be). Or a spoiled, rich young girl trying to make right the terrible wrong she caused by her own selfishness. (The Book of Moncoto). You will be drawn into these stories and treasure the moments.

Dr. Mosetta Penick Phillips-Cermak is a retired teacher and counselor/psychotherapist. Who writes across genres, and her books have been nominated for the American Library Association’s Notable Children’s Books List and the Moonbeam Children’s Book Award.

Happy Clients Say !

The Book of Moncoto is an engaging tale, nicely told, filled with rich characters sure to delight the young reader. Our protagonist learns essential life-lessons when undertaking a long journey to undo the damage caused by her selfishness. Dawn’s experiences show her how actions affect those around us in both bad and good ways. How connected we are to others, and how working as a group brings more tools and different talents to solve problems. Ultimately Dawn comes to appreciate the mystery of sacrifice, giving up her dream to return to her home of origin to bring life back to her new village home. These are lessons sorely needed today. I recommend The Book of Moncoto to everyone who loves fantasy or just a good story.

A wonderful masterpiece from beginning to end! The illustrations are absolutely eye catching. Geniuses at work here. Everyone should have the pleasure of experiencing such greatness and talent. Read this one, you won’t be disappointed.

I love the way the story unfolds and how it is Dawn telling that story. As I read the pages I felt as if I was experiencing it with Dawn. I could hear someone her age saying how they wanted the designer jeans like their friends have & complaining when they got a learning game not a fun game like the kids play. I think this is a great read for pre-teens, but not only pre-teens any age will enjoy the book. If someone enjoys reading they will thoroughly enjoy this read. This would make a great gift for birthdays or Christmas. I highly recommend it.

This is a wonderful book. My wife and I had trouble conceiving, and this book was the perfect gift for her when our own little one was born. It made my wife very happy.
The book also comes in a second edition hard back, which I found at the publishers website.
The second edition has twice the pages, pictures and more text, I believe.
I suggest that any guy should buy one for his wife.
